Man o man! What great 4 wheelers kawasaki has. I went to the shop and could not balieve how sweet they are. What would you rather have, the BF or the Prairie. thanks

 

Tough decision. See if you can ride both and then deside.

 

You may want to wait 3 weeks for the KQ 700 to make the decision. They all look like great bikes. I did however get a chance to ride the BF. My first impression was it was just like the Grizzly with more immediate power. It just seemed way to swampy for my taste. I have a Grizz now and am going to look hard at the KQ.

 

KQ700 is an excellent looking atv. I cant wait to toss a leg over it for a test drive.

 

I sold the P700 to buy the Brute and I'm very pleased so far. The IRS was one of the main selling
points for me. I also like the aggressive styling of the BF more than the P700. It's a good fit for
me.

 

Actually the 2004 p-700 has the best look of any utility, the BF looks ugly from what I've seen.
If you go with the reviews I've read the BF wins at a straight race.
That’s the machine for you, if your friends and riding buds want to race on a flat track the BF is your machine.
If you are serious about trail riding the Prairie is a great machine that will kick butt in a drag on the rest.
If the irs comfort ride is important wait for the King Quad with the single 700.
It also has efi and that is something I have a interest in.
Downfall is the single cylinder and vibration and power in the low end.
The raptor, grizzly Yamaha produces lots of power with the long power stroke and 5 valves.
Can the KQ compete on power? Like the v-twin's can smoke.

 

I will NEVER go back to a single cylinder quad, and I can't even imagine considering it. The King quad can just stay at the dealer, and I'll keep my Prairie![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I took a good look @ the BF and from a performance and from my point of view and for my taste I still think the p700 has got it beat. After owning several IRS bikes and then discovering the P650's and now an STP700 I have to say the fun factor is far greater with SRA bikes. I read a first ride review from DW a couple weeks ago on the BF, I have to say from what I can tell there review is spot on. The BF by design can't handel anywere nere as well as the p700 and for the price difference I bet with the 8 or 9 hundred I have invested in mods for my STP700 = a 27% dyno proven HP gain over stock, I bet it will run right with if not beat the BF in a drag. I know it can beat it in a woods race. Dw's article last week pretty much confirmed that.

If you like a plush ride for all day mountain rides, I bet the BF is great, but if you like to play around (sliding the a$$ end around and riding wheelies the STP700 or the p700 is the only way to go.

PS. If history serves us right the P700 will be a p750 within the next year along with the V-force. I once herd that was much more cost effective for kawi to use the same motor in the v-force as in the P650 and sure enough the P650 was a P700 with in 6 months. I will be very surprised if the p700 and v-force are not 750's by the end of the year and EFI equipped by 2005 as 2006 models. What I am real curious about is how Suki will deal with STP700 having even more displacement advantage than it already has over the KQ700.

 

From what I've read....and the seat time I've had on it, I just can't get myself to buy the Brute Force. I guess if for some strange reason I absolutely had to buy another ATV it'd be the Prairie 700 (I currently own a 2003 Prairie 650). I've never been one to buy a first year machine. As much as they might try, there is no way manufacturers can cover all the bases on a new ATV. They WILL make mistakes....as I feel they have with the Brute Force. I think its safe to say that the 2006 Brute force will see an unusual number of changes. I'll take another look at it then.

As for waiting for the King Quad.....forget it. I am in no way whatsoever brand loyal. But the chances of me ever going back to a single are slim and none. I'll soon be getting considerable seat time on the KQ, but it'll be darn near impossible to move me from a v-twin.
