Default Just bought a Kawasaki ATV - what kind is it?

Ok, I was bummed because I threw a rod on my kawasaki jet ski the other day (only 2 years old) and its going to be about $2,000+ to fix.
So i went out and bought a working Kawasaki 4 wheeler for $100!
It runs pretty good, shifts into all gears, and the kid told me it is a 300. I am not sure exactly if it is... its going some power for its age though.
We painted it up today, and i fabbed new brackets for the body (it was sagging horribly). Anyways, I really want to find out what model it is, and what year. I can't find a serial # or anything... I will take some pictures tomorrow. It is an older model ,i would say late 80's. it has a enclosed driveshaft instead of a chain in the rear, and there is no rear suspension. it just has front coils. I will take pics tomorrow, but so far, does anybody have anyidea what it could be?

also, i put a battery in, but when i do and hook it up i just keep getting a clicking noise when its connected... what could that be? the electric start wont work (can i fix this?), but the pull start works fine.

Make sure all your battery connections are clean and making contact well. Check the charge on the battery could be low. Maybe even a bad solenoid.

Have you looked on the fron A arm for the model and serial #? It should have that along with the year.

EDIT: We could tell from pictures if you get them.

You go to "My Page" on the options above, then add or delete pics, but there is a certain size limit, so you might have to resize them. Then you will have to wait for a Moderator to authorize it, then we can see it.

I would say your crank seal is bad letting oil in rope starter. Your clicking when you just turn key on is probably electric fuel pump. Not cranking when you hit the button is more than likly the starter brushes, to check put test light on the starter post and press the start button. If you have current then you have a starter problem, no current go to your solinoid.
