Default Anyone start BF with pull Rope?

Has anyone been able to start the BF with that pull rope?

What is the procedure?.

I have tried to get it to start and it wont even fire. Even after warming it up I cant seem to get it to start. But one push on the electric start it starts right up. I must be doing something wrong?

Simple really..
Get on steriods, build up arms and back with heavy weights.. then do it.

Just kidding.. I had a King Quad 500 that wouldnt start out in the middle of nowhere, and had to try to pullstart it. That was 5 years ago and I still have the dead fingernail to remember it by. When it finally did try to start it jerked the pullstart so hard that my fingernail got wedged under the puller.

I am a big guy and it took everything I had to pull that thing to life, I cant imagine how hard it would be to use a rope on a V-Twin, I am sure it is a thing u dont want to do if u had to.

Yeah, that’s probably it too. i am a small guy and seems like I cant get enough upward pull to get the motor to make enough revolutions, much less turn over fast. A few times it jerked the rope out of my hands. You would think they would put a compression release on that thing. Guess I better make sure starter and battery are always in good shape! i wish my bike had a 2nd way of starting it, a pull start would be a great added feature, i mean geez it cant add that much weight and would be nice when u are 10miles from your truck and battery is dead

Its easy to start the Prairie with the pull-rope. You have to get
the engine past its compression strokes.

Pull the rope slowly untill you feel the rear cylinder go thru its
compression stroke, then continue pulling very slowly until you
feel the engine get past the front cylinder compression stroke, then stop
just after the compression. Now you will have almost 2 complete
revolutions on the next pull, before you hit compression again.

Now pull really fast and hard.

hes right , but the prarie has a built in de - compresor , i was amased how easy it was too . i found pulling the cord away ffom the bike rather than up the way using the bike to place your oposite foot on as an anchor point ,

I'd just about bet you that if they put a pull starter on the Brute, & as closely related as the engine is to the Prairie, that it would have the same centrifial compression release, built into the cams, as the Prairies do...

Yup, I had the same problem and I'm a pretty big guy. Of course it only had about 30 min. TT on the engine. I'm thinking (and hopeing) that the engine will loosen up a little over time. The pulling it through the compression idea is a good thought too, I'll have to try that.
As it is, I couldn't pull it over even near fast enough to start it even when warm.
