Anyone start BF with pull Rope?
#31
I'm putting a V Force cover on, to replace my pull start, on my 12.5 or more to 1 - 750cc Prairie... thats what the electric starter is for... besides, my recoil has been full of mud, so many times, that it rarely works right anymore anyway...

My 650 wouldnt budge- I'm 6' and 230. I was humping at that pull rope with all I got. I had the plugs out and decided to do it....still harder than all hell. I finally got it to turn a few times. Seems thats all it took now its "loosened up" or whatever. It will fire when warm (one maybe two pulls), dont have the courage to try when its cold LOL

Started mine easily cold today with one relatively easy pull. It has five hours on it now and that seems to have made all the difference in the world. I couldn't do that when it was new.

Yeah, I started mine today dead cold, first pull. Surprised me. The one thing I was doing wrong was the way I was pulling it. I stood over to the side grabbed the rope and pulled perpendicular to the engine. I watched the video posted and saw the error of my ways. Now that I pull straight up it turns right over. I have about 5 hours on mine too. But I never tried starting it with the rope unil about 4 hours were on it. So, I am not sure if it is any easier due to the hours or not.

I found that if you stand on the floorboard and pull the rope up about 2ft then give it a firm pull mine will fire right up. I'm about 5'8" and the rope is almost to long, but mine will start no problems. Hope you figure it out.
