I know that this tends to be regional. Here in Southern Nevada, the ratio of brands seems to be like this...

Polaris-40%
Honda-25%
Yamaha-15%
Bombardier-10%
Kawasaki-5%
Suzuki-5%

Out of 100 or so ATV riders I know, I only personally know two other Kawi riders here in town, Metal Alien and a guy in my ATV club who rides a P650. I really think that Kawi has a superior line of bikes. Why don't we have more Kawi riders?

I think it's because people are brand loyal and believe that since their old honda or polaris held up 10 years ago then they must still be the best brand now. I like different models from all brands but when I hear people say that honda is built tough for people who "work" their quads it really makes me laugh.

Honda utilities are very popular around here in southeastern Kentucky. I owned a 400 foreman prior to my V-force. So far, I have been most satisfied with the Kawi. All things considered, the "foot shift" honda models are some of the most low maintenance atv's made. When I was looking for a new one, I went to the Honda shop first. I rode a few new models and then went to the Kawi dealer. I saw the V for the first time. I rode it and was hooked. It just seemed to be a very well built machine and very well balanced. After riding it, I went back to the honda shop to compare. Nothing they had could get me to forget the V. I kicked it around for a few days and couldn't get it out of my head I would say a good guess at ratios would be....................

Honda 60%
yami 20%
Kawi 10%
Suzuki 5%
Polaris 5%

A lot of people are scared to ride the V-Twin. Too much power for their girly hands to hang onto the bars!!!!! KIDDING!!! Idahoprairie has the answer. Too many people are scared of change.

You will find most people own the brand that is the closest dealer to them I have owned Polaris Suzuki and Kawasaki, After buying my first ATV on a whim 5 years ago after being a loyal dirt biker in my youth I hooked up with some co-workers who rode on a weekly basis and there were about 12 polaris bikes in the group, So naturally I bought a polaris, Actually 2 in a row, after that I started doing my home work and went to a LTZ and then to the V-force, I finally found what I was looking for, A solid bike with great power in stock trim, After 5 atv's 4 new ones over about 5 years i drove quite a ways to get my Kawie and love every bit of it, Now when people ask me my opinion on a good bike I suggest to ride as many different bikes as they can and go from there, In my opinion I dont think you will lose by going with any of the major brands out there now.

Kawi has been sucking hind tit for as long as my riding career has existed. Since the mid 80's. To be honest, I don't know why? Both myself and my family have owned every brand of quad, dirt bike and street bike over the past 20+ years. I simply won't fall into the brand loyality thing and recommend one brand over the other. I know it sounds like a cop out but they all have good and bad points. Each OEM has good and bad models and no OEM is the best in all areas.

I own a Kawasaki Mojave and a couple Kawasaki motorcycles and they have performed and held up just fine.
