Default brute force overheating

I'v had my bf for a couple of weeks and when I go on long rides it overheats, it has done it with the radiator completely clean and when there is a little mud build up it does it more often. I was wondering if anyone else was having these problems with theirs and anything I can do to fix this. I have already lenghthened the surround aroud the radiator to help splash protection to keep it from clogging, any help would be appriciated.

Drain 1/2 a pint of Rad fluid out and put in Redline Water Wetter. Should fix your probs. Also if it is broken in, switch to a synthetic oil.

What happens when it overheats? The light comes on, or it boils over?

Have you checked your breaker for the Radiator fan, it is located under the seat.
My BF750 runs cooler than any of my P650s ever did, the fan comes on only once & awhile.
www.buykawasaki.com now have the skids plates available but they are not cheap.

the light would come on and I would let it cool for a half hour or so, it has boiled some coolant out because the overflow tank is almost empty, it must have done that at some point in my last ride. the fan appears to be working properly, I'm going to add some water wetter to the coolant and wrap the exhaust pipes with a special insulation they make for car headers, I'll let you know how it works

Just for kicks, I looked for the fan breaker under the seat and I can't find it. Where is it at? Maybe a diagram would help. I haven't purchased the service manual yet.

I added the water wetter to my radiator last night. I added 3 oz directly to the radiator. We will see if it helps any. I have only had the hot light come on once and that was because I had the radiator plugged.

Isn't there a diagram for the breaker in the owner's manual?

I quickly looked last night, but couldn't find it. I will take another look and see if it is in there.
