reset belt light 750
#2
the owners manual says you need to bring it to a dealer so they can use a "special tool" to reset it, this better not be true because if I am in the middle of no where and it goes into limp mode at 100 hours, I'm not going to be to happy.

I am currious why does kawi want these things going into limp mode at 100hrs. I thought there were signs of belt failure that would tell a guy to get it checked or replaced long befor it would actualy break. I have 200 + hours and 1150 miles on my original belt. I was told at its last service that it still looked good (about 12hrs and 250 miles ago). What are the signs of a bad belt is it just excessive slippage squalls or is there other signs. What happens if you leave the key on and the quad ends up with 100 hrs on the hr meeter but 20 hrs on the actual quad, does it still go into limp mode and is there a way to dissable the belt minder buy pulling a fuse or something easy to get it out of limp mode.

Contact Nyroc or Kiss of death, i'm sure one of those guys can help ya. But I think there are two different situations there . It has a 100 hr light for service and a belt trip switch for belt problems. From what I understand on the new models only the belt trip switch will put it into limp mode. And that is what you want if you have a belt problem out on the trail. Not sure if that's the way it is on the B/F or not

Similar to 650 700 . Unplug 2 pin conector going to belt switch. Unplug black conector under seat , unplug white conector beside it ( white plug is a reset plug which has no wires conected to it from machine) Plug reset plug into black plug turn key to on , turn off. plug everything back to stock. You are done.
