Default Prairie keeps on impressing me

Well last weekend I had my longest and fastest trail ride over in Black River Falls. I went with 2 others that rode a 04 Sportsman 700 carb and a 2 stroke Polaris Explorer 400. The trails were really sandy but flat, we put on almost 50 miles. I had to ride behind my buddy on the 700 because he did not have his goggles with, otherwise he would get dusted out, he rides very aggressive but it was easy to keep up. I jumped out ahead towards the end cause I could not stand waiting anymore, I really drove the prairie hard and it kept begging for more, I blew by some younger guys on sport quads, not sure what they were, was going too fast to see. I bet they were surprised to see a "ute" quad come out of the corner and then do 60 somethin down the trail in the blink of an eye. The only thing that got tired was my stinkin thumb when I had to hold it part throttle. Got home and man was my filter dirty, we went riding the day after and my bike ran fine with the dirty K&N, my buddies 700 would barely start with his stock filter in place. Pulled my filter and everything inside was clean as a button, glad I have my K&N.

I was also riding in Black River Falls last week. We put on about 108 miles. Some of the trails were really good and fun, but some were too abusive. I swear there was at least 3 straight miles of whoops. I'm pretty sure that is what did my brakes, and cv joint in. We put about 130 miles on eariler in the week in Clark county which I liked better. They have some fun intensive use areas as well. We went when it was raining and it was awesome, lots of good mud and water puddles. Thanks for the good info on the Prairie, I will be adding one to the family probably next spring.

We lost a little ride time trying to get the permit to ride in Jackson county, went to the DNR but it was closed from 1-2 and it was a little after 1pm when we got there, the sign said to go to some park area and they did not have have the temporary permit, the lady says go to Walmart, on our way there we stopped at some hole in the wall gas station and whatta ya know they had the permit. It took us 4 tries but finally got it. You'd think the place at the beginning of the trail would sell these things, but alas that would make too much sense. Anyhu, we hit the trail and came to the point where it breaks off into diff. directions and we took the left and went quite a ways before we had to turn around and head back, we were camping in Nashonic and didn't want the women to worry I wanna get back there and try the other trails when we have more than a few hours to ride
