I had my heads flowed on a flow bench, & prior to haveing it done, I talked to 3 different flow bench techs... the general consensus was that I'd see about a 20% increase in flow efficiency, by having them flowed... this was done at the same time as installing the FST BBK, with the cams... added tp my other mods, all I can say is... WOW...

Is flowed the same as ported? Can you gain about as much with a good head port job as a cam? Thanks for the reply newbeatle.

from my exp with cars you will get a gain doing a flow/port...or a cam but to really see the full potential of either doing both is a must....they will benefit each and the gains will be significant..i mean if you are going to take the head apart and off to do a port...y not put a hotter cam in there when its going back together only makes sense to me..just my .02

I agree with that. If at all possible do both. I know sometimes money gets in the way of things but if you can afford it do yourself a favor and do both at the same time. You already have the engine now finish it off.

Good advice. I was just wondering if it would stomp a b.f. with both mods, being the bf only with dyna. Trying to decide if I should invest more money in this or get b.f. or k.q. or just cam until trading. Quess I am never happy, like power too much. Or leave alone for now and get a new sled. I think I will probably go for the final mods then I know I did everything I can do except big bore or nitrous. Anybody have any thoughts?
