kfx 700 k&n air filter
I used a KFX 700 jet kit on my prairie and just followed the directions except I went a little richer than they recommended, which was still leaner than stock, it runs like a raped ape. Maybe you could just turn your screws out a bit and see if it gets rid of your popping.

Wonder why Kawi would be rich from the factory with all the air standards? So they come from the factory getting less milage and emiting more pollutants into the air?
Im not saying it couldnt be true, but just shocked they would waste CAFE points on a 'rich' product.

I put my K&N filter in my V, left the jetting alone and picked up a bike length on my buddy. So for me it works fine.
I think they come rich from the factory b/c lean bikes can run very hot and cause damage. It is more of a concern with 2 strokes but it can be harmful for 4 stokes as well.

I put a K & N Filter on my V Force, but I also have dual exhaust as well. The stock jets in the quad are a 135 in the front and a 140 in the rear. I put a 140 in the front and a 145 in the back. The back was running a little rich so I put it back at a 140. This seemed to work fine after these adjusments. The front cylinder runs cooler than the back one that is why the difference in the jets. If your riding in conditions that are not real dusty, buy a 2nd are box cover and drill 3 1/2 inch holes in the front of the cover this lets in more air and really helps out as well.
