can i weld on my mojave while the engine is still in the frame.i herd you can fry you electrical parts if you dont any info would be help full.I'm trying to weld my exhaust hanger back on.Has anyone broke there hanger and how did you fix it.

here is the scoop on that..........YES, you can weld it with the engine in the frame,,,,,,,,,and YES welding this way CAN fry electrical components.

where you place your ground in relationship to the area you are welding is VERY important. If you are welding the exhaust bracket, make sure you keep your ground close to the area being welded and you will be ok.

The current travels the path of least resistance to find a ground.........if you place your ground lead on the other side of the engine, it is possible that the electrical components could get damaged. Any welder should know this & be able to instruct you better. good luck
