I cannot agree more with SaskKawiGuy. I think your friend will have to buy the atv that is right fo him. I suggest that he ride both and then decide. Both of these atvs are great and both fit different people differently. The final decision should not be based on what opinions are given here on this web site. I belive you cannot go wrong with either the King or the BF if you want a IRS machine. After all they were made to compete with each other in the marketplace so there is not that much diffence in either. I happen to prefer the King Quad.

Plus if you have your BF on the softest setting and you say you can fast trail ride without felling tippy. Then your fast trail is less the 10mph, or there are no corners.
feeling tippy. I can assure you, I exceed 10mph and frequently encounter corners while trailriding...with no tippy feeling.

I guess it depends on what you consider a corner. Some feel just turning the handle bars is a corner, or a long sweeping turn as being a corner. I mean going down a trail going about 20mph+ then hitting the brakes then go in a different direction. This is what I consider a corner.
with what I know for sure after logging over 200+ miles on the Brute. How many miles have you put in on the Brute...not being
a smart-butt, just curious?

Well I don't have much on the BF, but I put 44 miles on my KQ in 2:21 at my last race. My KQ was very soft in hard corners and off camber CORNERS. So by listening to other BF owners who mostly say the BF is tippy. I find it really hard to believe that the BF could do the same race and not feel tippy. IMHO

"feeling tippy" is a thing that is different to each person. i have 200 or so miles on mine, first week i had i t i was on a poker run where we were riding and about 40mph through the woods on the 2nd softest setting but i did have 27" mudlites on at the time. never felt tippy and was able to stay in the pack and pass some people since then i have put the stock tires back on to save the big boys for winter and spring. went riding with my brother who has a pretty quick prairie 650 and is a better rider. i was able to ride with him and not feel tippy on the same trails. he also rode and now thinks he might get one. if you feel tippy dont ride that trail or learn how to ride. oh yeah, i concede the the brute might feel tippy in that race your talking about but it probably beats you as well, like i said you just gotta know how to ride.

on the soft side. But I have never found it to be overly soft in hardwood-bottom trails I ride in. Could it be better? Yes. I
can come into a sharp corner...hit the brakes and slingshot out without much problem. There is an emphasis on body english
and of course, that back-end squat from the power shot...but it is very possible without being overly awkward. The big help
for me in the cornering situation has come from the addition of Type 6's, 1.5 spacers and new rubber. Much improved over the
stock Brute....
Having said all that, your admission of second-hand information with the Brute and comparison experience with the KQ being
the basis of your argument doesn't mean you are a liar...nor does it mean anyone else is. Too many variables I suppose...
My "problem"(for lack of a better word) I suppose with your initial comments is that I find it really hard to believe that a person
who openly admits a lack of experience with a quad can make comparisons and judgements about performance of someone else's
ATV. IMHO.
