no its not hard to do, really pretty easy actually, took me about three hrs but that was because i'm picky ,i cut the battery cables to length so i didnt have alot of excess cable wraped around everything and also mounted my rocker switch to the bottom side of the diplay cover instead of the left handle bar where the dealer mounts them, i put mine where i did so it dosent get broke in a roll over. all in all it just takes some time removing the plastic to run wires and the three hrs i worked on mine i wasnt hard at it. the winch is definitly worth the money

the braket to mount the winch comes with the $69 and the roller fairlead bolts right to the mount and you can get one for 30 - 40

installing the winch is fairly simple, just take your time, keep wires and electrical connections away from heat and moving parts. follow the instructions and even call your local shop for advise from a tech. if needed. i have installed numerous winches on quads trouble free, and im no professional mechanic. just remember to spool the winch out ( all but last spool ) and pull it in with a light load the first time - i always park the quad on a slight hill, attatch hook to something stationary, then pull the machine up to it, that always does it.
