New 700 prairie secondary Black Spring?
#1
I just ordered a new driven pulley for a 700 prairie to replace my old one on my 02 prairie 650. My question is: should I use to Black Spring I used on my old worn out original driven or is the one on the new 700 better?

That's strange. On my 700 (both), the spring is yellow painted. ??? I bet the color indicates the spring constand K (stiffness). It controls how fast/slow the movable sheave moves (open and close) which controls the belt engagement speed at the driven converter. But I don't know which colr spring is stiffer because I've never seen black one...

I'm sorry if I was confusing anyone. I'll give some more detail. I have an 02 prairie 650, the driven bushings went bad and I ordered a new one, which is for the 700. I don't know what color it is because I don't have it yet. On my old driven I changed the original for the "black spring". My question is, should I use the "black spring" on the new one or use the one it comes with?

I agree the EPI Black spring would be better than the Stock 700 original.
