I've only been in the ATV sport for a year or so.... my P700, and 400 Kodiac were my first atv's. But I do have 30yrs experience with motorcycles, and sold my last sportbike to get into ATV's. My last bike was the Suzuki Hayabusa... 1300cc 160+hp beast of a bike.... Mine was a 2002 model with the speed restricted at 186mph.. but nothing a simple swap of the wires to the computer didn't "fix" Yes, it was a true 200mph bike at that point. All this talk of "too much power" is pointless. True, I didn't "NEED" all that power in my 'Busa'... I didn't "NEED" all that speed.... but I deffinately LOVED having it there IF and WHEN I wanted to use it! That power saved my butt more then once when I had to scramble out of dangerous situations and that little boost of power got me out of there in a hurry.

I love my P700... yep I've modified it to be a bit faster... but I still find it gutless compared to the sportbikes I've owned... but I still love it!! If I could get my hands on a 1000cc sled motor.. yeah..I'd be playing to mate it to a Prairie chassis.... My brother and I have even been toying with some ideas for turbo-charging or even supercharging the P700.... More power is only bad if you don't have a clue how to handle it!! But... another point... the rest of the machine MUST support that power... brakes, suspension, tires... it all must work together to support each other. That was the beauty of the Busa... everything on that bike was designed and built for one purpose.. SPEED!!!!

So Yea, I'd welcome a 1000cc Prairie.... no doubt about it!!!!

It wont be, so dont even think about it. I kind of like being able to hit the gas and go instead of searching for gears in the middle of a river crossing.

My fellow americans, i promise you this. If i am re-elected, I will put heavy pressure on all the atv manufacturers to come out with a V-8 ATV. This will aide in my plan to raise gas prices to well over $3 a gallon. After we start to see V-8 atv's I promise to give the rich another tax cut and start another war. No...if anything...you are NOT George W. Bush. Your "wit" clearly represents you as one of the lazy, disingenuous, cowardly, and blissfully ignorent people who attack and harm all outdoor sports. You must be taken care of. The rest of us must take responsibility for your umbilical attachment to childhood. For you are Democrat, for you are liberal...here (and everywhere) you whine. The rest of us shall see to to your care and feeding....and you know it!

I am WheelCow and you have proven my words true and accurate!
WheelCow, Obviously I am a republican. I am an atver or I wouldn't be on this site. I must be taken care of? I need more men with your tough attitude to send to Iraq and hunt down those terrorist!!! Amen, and god bless america!!!

Well here in Minnesota, most ATV trails allow ATV's up to 1000cc, even though the big manufacturers don't make them, lots of homemade jalopy's running around. (I believe I've read this right off some trail signs) over 1000cc are considered OHV, which are also allowed on a lot of the same trails (this is a fact)....well the old RR tracks mostly boring ones yeah.

And here in Canada we have no resriction on cc size,

But interestly 2up factory machaines are NOT permited here in Canada. This does not stop Bomb and Artic Cat from building them and selling them in Canada!
