if you take off the seat i believe it is under the the little black box that has a mitubishi symbol on it, but you have to unclip it . i think thats it yeah i just looked at my manual it says its under the control unit. but the manual says there is only a on and prime position. it says the fuel only flows when the engine is started and the fuel supply is shut off when engine is turned off. u only need to prime when carbs are drained. thinks this answers everything ahhhh

The gas will flow into the carbs and then into the cylinders if your tank is pressurized. The tank becomes pressurized when the quad sits in the sun either on your lawn or in the back of your truck while you transport it. I have had this happen to me on all of my Kawasaki quads, its a flaw that was never addressed because it seems Kawasaki does not test their ATV properly.

Installing a vent into your gas tank would fix this problem but then you have to watch for mud and water getting into your tank. If they would of just installed a REAL shut off valve then we wouldn't have this problem. In the past they had an off position but it was a vacuum off, not a physical off.

When you get enough gas in your cylinders its hard to start and sometimes won't turn over, the starter will click a few times and you pray it eventually starts. Sucks when it happens, makes your heart race. Only happened about 6 times to me over the last 2 years.
