Default DG3 or HL ICM for B.F.

I want to get that same pipe and the jet kit too, but I'm not a carb man, don't know what size jets or needles to put in. is that jet kit hard to install? do they give you several options of jets and you have to smart enough to figure out which one to put in? I have taken carbs apart but those were on cars and I never changed anything, just put in all the parts from a re-build kit, do you need anything special to work on these Brute carbs? That HL box is something you wire into the stock box right? do you think there is a warranty issue if you do that? with the Dynatek box you can just take it out before you take the bike in for service.

also, can somebody post a link to where you can get the DG5? I see it posted all the time talking about D&G racing or something but I can't find their website, thanks.

You have to remove both side panels and the airbox to get to the carbs. After that, remove the throttle cable, fuel line, drain line, heater plugs, choke cables. Loosen the rubber boots and pull the carbs. The jet needle is under the cap at the top of the carb, the main jet is under the bowl at the bottom of the carb. The dyno kit also calls for a small hole to be drilled into the carb slide ( drill bit is included). None of this is hard, just somewhat time consumiing. Take your time and you will be fine. From my own personal experience with dynojet kits on other bikes, start off with their reccomended settings for your elevation and fine tune from there. The worst thing you can do is is to try too rich of a main jet or clip position on the needle from the start. Been there done that on a KFX400.

I called Diamond G and they don't have a dg3 anymore but a new one dg5. He said it makes over 7 horsepower more on the stock brute. I find that kinda hard to beleive for only 139 bucks. Are they pulling my leg or not? I am also looking at the other modules from HL and dyno. They said it has onand off switch build in it to, but I don't understand what would happen if it were off? Anybody have one of these things on a brute?

The HL ICM is a copied Version of the DG3. The New DG5 features an On/Off switch which isn't a big deal, However it also features a Mircoprocessor that the DG3/HL ICM doesn't have. It reads input going in and out of the engine. Much more efficent and reliable. I definitly think the DG5 is capable of 7 rwhp in the low range. All of the above stated info was provided by Diamond G.

My DG5 should be here today.

NOTE: The DG5 is designed for the B.F. A P700 will not see any difference between the DG3/DG5 other than the On/OFF switch.

Interested in your ride report Bama. Is the install the same as the HL ICM, soldering wires ??? I've only seen maybe 2 reviews of the DG5 on a Brute but both were good.

Yeah and it was a pain to install. Very little wire to work with. Still haven't had a chance for a test ride, maybe tommorrow.

I just put a new HL ICM on my bf and it did nothing. I soldered it like it said to but still nothing. So i took it off and cant connect the pink wire back together. Does anyone know what the wire is for and if i really need it. Any suggestions on what i can do to make it work.
