K&N airfilter lakota sport!!!
#11
Vunit,
I purchased my k&N air filter quite some time ago. But I pulled out my rockymountain catalog and you're right, the part number is the same for the mojave. But if you're interested in the clamp on, K&N, they don't carry them unfortunately.
One good thing is that I did find the uni filter clamp on for the lakota. It is part # 14-2362A. What do you guys think, does anyone use Uni?
you guys are making it sound hard (taking out the stock air box) is it that difficult?

okay take off your seat/fenders...then take the tube that is connected to the carb and air box...then you have to measure the carb to find the outside diameter then find use the link to find it....yeah questions are good i know i asked a lot when doing this too

.. the whole business with the clamp on is that they don't make them for a specific bike. They just carry sizes like inner O.D. 2 1/2" and a 4 or 5" length. it's the intake snout of the carb that ya hafta measure as this is where the filter will clamp onto. I'll try and post some pics....

.. The diameter of the snout that the filter will clamp onto is 2 1/8" as shown in the picture I've posted. However, after looking at rocky mountains site the slosest size they carry is; Uni-Air Filter, POD CLAMP ON, 2 1/4 I.D. x 5 L. 2 1/4" will do as the screw clap- similair to that of a radiator clamp, will secure it. There, of course, are other outlets that may carry a similiar filter with a 2 1/8" I.D. With the stock Mojave carb you can probably get away with a 5" long filter, but a bigger carb with an accelerator pump will relegate you to the 4" variety. So, how does that Lakota perform with the Mojave carburetor? Did it loose any low end, and did it uncorck the top end? Lets see some pics of that Lakota of yours, mdyjeepgrl! Let me know how this all turns out...............

Hey Mdyjeepgrl the part number that you posted is that in rockymountainatv mag or the denniskirk. I want to give these guys a call but was not sure which mag it was. So if i were to call them up would i be able to order this clamp on uni filter and just take off my stock air box and these would fit right on with out any mess. Also do you or anyone else know which is better performance and easy to deal with. Thanks Mdyjeepgrl for the part number.

Hey kwackermann, i just looked at your pictures and saw the intake side of the carb measuring at 2 1/8". Is that the stock size of a lakota carb and that is were the clamp on would go replacing the stock air box set up.
