I, personaly, see speed in the form of acceleration as a translation of power. If you think about it, the fast ther quad is, the higher its power to weight ratio is. the higher the power to weight ratio is, the more usable power a bike has. off course this doesn't work if you go the extreme, because a 300 pound utility quad may be fast but unable to turn big tires. but as long as bikes stay above 600 pounds, the speed test isn't that bad. Top speed is sort of bull, because it does all rely on gearing and if it takes you 20 minutes to hit 80mph then you can't say you have a fast bike because its 10mph faster than the other big bores. for example of course.

Yea they check my pockets when I leave the plant. I was thinking about just running out really fast one day with a crate of them. But then id have to find a new job. It might almost be worth it though. We have a showroom in the plant and from what the wispers are next year for the brute is a Team Green brute. I cant wait to see that. I prob wont get one casue they are cutting back our discounts at the beginning of the year the bastards. Kawi dosnet treat thier employes verry good. If they used polaris on mars, that would be the end of the U.S space exploartion program. They use kawi for a reason. If you guys have any problems with your cam shafts jsut let me know. Il get that fixed right away.

ROGLMAO housefullofkawi. Kaws must have magic power to run on a planet that has virtually no oxygen. x2468, you have a good point about weight/HP ratio. There are; however, two more effects that determine acceleration. The first is rotating inertia, the second is frontal area. If you want the highest acceleration quad, reduce the size of the tires (inertia) remove the front wheel drive (inertia) throw away the CVT transmission and replace with gears and a clutch (inertia). Sounds like a sport quad eh? So when we want to compare acceleration, we must consider power, weight, rotating inertia and frontal area. Pound for pound, rotating inertia has considerable more impact than weight. Hopes this helps shed some light on acceleration.

We make the p650 p700 and bf750 engines. Also we make the 360's, All the atv engines cept for the KFX 400 ofcourse. And we make the kawasaki line of lawnmower engines. But the 650 700 and750 engines are all the same blocks just diff bores. We dont really get to see to much stuff. But there is a prototype line right beside mine. They have people come over from japan and make stuff. The word aroudn the plant is weve just made a 800cc and a 850. bolth V-tiwns. So Im thinkng ploaris is going to get a run for thier money. We saw the brute bout 1 month before it came out. But it was allready released for shows and stuff. So its not really "top secrete" But il let you know what I see in the showroom. Oh yea we make hellicopter engines there too lol. Dont really know where that fits in with atv's.

well all of you have an oppininion on the matter thats a fact , i see, but if you do alot of rocks and hill climbing for hunting all the big quads like the brute and others along the line are good. its all in the location , take where im at here in montana its rocky and mountainous here is it really ethical to have a race quad or a big monster brute? and if i move back to the flater areas like louisville, ky / new albany, indiana its more ethical to have a sport bike like the banshees or mojaves because of the region your at besides if it is made by honda or kawasaki or yamaha that part is oppinion because of preferance on the durability how long they last or even if you had alot of problem out of a quad ........its just like owning a dodge and chevy verses the ford and toyota it all oppinion if i was asked what is the bike i perfer id say the mojave or banshee because of power and the other things you could do but its my oppinoin on that subject

I am pretty impressed with you guys. I am surprised that my post didn't start world war three. usually when a guy with a different brand makes a post in another forum he gets bashed hard and stuff, you guys took what I said straight forward and did not twist it around. originally when I was looking for a quad I was seriously thinking of getting a kawasaki V force sport model, then I figured I better get a utility quad cause I planned on doing alot of trail/woods riding and really enjoy the mud and rocks. I started looking around at all the different choices and finally picked the polaris model mainly because of the EFI but other great features were the ground clearance, Independant Rear Suspension, true 4x4/AWD on demand, great style and looks, comfort and handling. I liked the whole machine. I will be honest though cause I did find a part of the bike I did not like, the quad has a slap noise from the clutch/driveline on accel/decel at slow speeds and the way the plastic fits where the side cover meets the front plastic near the gas tank is not a smooth fit.

hey house kawasaki are grate bikes but for you to say there kings well dont go that route because of the factor on building custom bikes like the dirtbikes or2 wheelers on the hillclimbing and things the huskys and harleys were kings and the harleys were band or outlawd if you would say correctly but remember its your oppinion so quite trying to get the guy in a gate well mad or upset man relax

Well the "king" just dropped Team Green, so they must be royalty, and they want to keep more of their profits to support themselves, instead of putting the money back into the sport and supporting ATV racing. Kawi sure didn't earn any respect from me with that move.
