Default Battery relocation on lakota

I am getting new tires this month for my lakota sport and the tire that i am getting is the holeshot XCT in 22-11-10 the stock sizes. I am almost sure that they will hit the battery box and i know that it does not hurt anything but i would like to relocate the battery else where like undre the seat. I know that many people have done this to their lakota's and it worked out good so maybe you'll can help me out. Down the road i'm getting a new axle but i just dont have the cash right now for new tires and an axle.

i would just put it...if at anyway posiable...underneath the front headlight hood kinda towards the gas tank...that would keep it outta the elements and it would be protected...it may take some more cable though

I was kinda hoping that i would be able to put it under the seat because there is a lot of empty space there. First i gonna get the seat off and take it from there. Maybe i'll make a plate for the battery to sit on under the seat.

In order to get full access to under the seat, you may have to take off the rear fender.....I haven't looked latley but the battery is pretty big, and if I remember right, theres not enough room for the battery to go under the seat, unless possibly the airbox was removed.....As far as battery relocations I think most people just get it to move over...giving more tire space.

Yeah- Vunit, did ya ditch the airbox? Without doing that ya really won't have the room for the battery under there.

I have my battery under the seat. I made a bracket from some angle iron to hang it as far back as I could. I have been running it there for about 2 years with no problem. The arm that stabilizes the rear caliper had to be extended. I just made another from some 1/4" aluminum stock. Just make sure there is room between the battery and caliper when the suspension is fully compressed.

I'll see if I can find a pic.

Well i'm still running the stock airbox on my lakota, so this weekend my friend and me took off my battery and battery box and looked at it. So what we did was the brackets where the battery box was connecting to the frame we drilled out the hole bigger and moved the battery box all the way against the frame so it is touching. I gained about 1" or so, so it's better than nothing so we will see what happends. I hope that the tires won't hit.

I think you will be fine. they may still rub a little, but not enough to hurt and if they do, it will only be at full compression of the suspension.

BY the way, I still have my stock airbox in as well.

The clutch conversion was done by the previous owner. If you look at my pics, you can see what was done.

The Klotz graphics are from a 250R. Just a little trimming and you can make them work.
