edit: Installed DG5 and Dyno-Jet

I have a prairie 700 i ride it pretty hard. I took it threw a pond the other day and didn't make it. Okay now here is the problem i am having.
I changed the oil and the plugs 2 times now. I also drained all of the gas out of the tank and out of the carbs. I checked my coolant and it was untouched with water and so was my rear storage compartment. I took off the cvt cover and drained all of the vent lines also.
I changed the plugs yesterday for the second time because at about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it will sputter really bad then open up and take off. The plugs i pulled out both times were black as could be. I never had a problem with jetting before i shot the pond? I also repacked my t-4 exhaust system also. Thought it could have been wet.
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I COULD CHECK OR DO? I need my quad going this weekend for a big ride out of town.

Sounds like trash in your pilot jet or carb bowls oryour air screw setting is off.
1st I'd removed the airbox lid. Looking at your velocity stacks, use low pressure airgun & 5-10 psi give the round little brass looking vent holes by your velocity stacks/airbox retainer bolts a squirt of air to purge the lines. Do not stand over holes cause gas will spray in your face from the opposite hole. Shoot air to each vent hole near each of the velocity stacks. Drain your carb bowls again. Also since the weather has gotten colder you may need to readjust your airscrew settings. Take her for a spin then start with airscrew adjustment. Take for spin after each 1/4 turn of airscrew adjustment.
2nd. Try moving your choke lever at different increments to see if it affect your stumbling. If so your carb choke plunger springs may be weak and or choke sticking but before you remove your choke plungers to stretch your plunger spring 1/2 inch, first try readjusting your airmixture screws
3rd, If this don't remedy your problem remove your carb bowl & inspect/blow out main jet and pilot jet with low air pressure, then stick air gun to pilot jet hole and give a squirt of air and blow out vents again by your velocity stacks. Do not over tighten your pilot jet when re-installing. Ensure your carb slide slide springs are correctly installed/not binding and none of your shims for your needles are dislodged under the retainer the slide spring fits over.
Good luck.

Okay i got in there and clean out the air-box and those brass vent holes by the velocity stacks. I drained the carbs really good and then started again. It still stumbles about 1/4 throttle.
So i took the carb bowls off and clean them really good. I found a little bit of mud in the rear carb. So should i take the carbs off and clean them really good and install them again or check something else? BTW It still stumbles.
Thanks for your help

wouldnt hurt to go thru it with an airline and maybe a can of wire dryer to chase that moisture away

I also took a cleaned my fuses, Took a air line to the carbs. I also just installed brand new set of plugs.

A few last thoughts.
Be sure your header/exhaust/muffler bolts are tight and no airleaks. Insure center vaccum line that attaches to bottom of your airbox is not full of crud.
If you found mud in Carb bowls, keep in mind it only takes a particle of grit or drop of water in your fuel to make your atv run crappy and render all the prior maintenance you done useless and make yo have to start back at square one.
Once you get crud out of carb bowls, everything blowed out AGAIN, AND BEFORE YOU CHANGE YOUR PLUGS I'd also run up RPM to the point it starts sputtering and spray some carb cleaner through it a few times, then elevate throttle 3/4 spray carb cleaner again and repeat. Then take it for a spin.
Did you try running it with different air cleaner filter to see if symptons were the same & ensure if you cleaned and re-oiled your filter you did not put tooooo much oil in the airfilter?
If you got a friend with a 650 or 700 you may also try swapping the coils & Sparkplug wires from their bike to eliminate them as the problem.
Good Luck.
