Prairie 700 Sputtering
Edit: After i re-installed the carbs the sputtering cleared up because it was doing it at idle. It doesn't do that anymore. It only does it while i am riding it won't wheelie at all it is a dog til about 20mph the it really opens up. It does this everytime and pop's through the carbs some on de-cellration
Thanks shotgun
jps
I have took the carbs off and took them to a dealer and had them dipped and cleaned and inspected.
Don't have no holes drilled or any modifications done to the airbox i don't even have a napa hose on there right now.
I do have a k&n filter on there though. So i try my stock filter and see if it makes a difference?
What is the fuel petcock is that the little fuel shut-off switch on the side of your atv?
Thanks shotgun

popping through the carbs on decell,
Your lean on the needles, richen up the air screws , if that doesn't help....
take the black plate off of the back of the carbs, carefully take the diam out, then the spring, then the needle,
put a # 4 washer behind the needle and reinstall, makeing sure when you put the diam back on, it's hooked to the vac tube.
you should be fine.

Thanks shotgun i plan on getting a dynojet kit.
But would i really need to rejet because i am thinking different because it ran flawless before i submerged it. The tempature was about the same from when i sunk it up until last week when i have rode it last.
thanks,
Josh

you guys, this is VERY simple. That popping when warming up or taking off is a lean low speed jet. This is easily fixed by backing the screws out to richen the low speed mixture. My prarie came too lean from the factory, both screws were 1 and 3/4 turns out. Now at 2.5 turns out the quad starts 10x easier and doesn't pop at all. Since you are richening the low speed screws, you'll likely have to turn your idle adjuster in a bit to compensate for the extra gas. One prairie I looked at had one screw out 3/4 of a turn and one screw totally closed! Moral of the story, turn your screws all the way in, and back them out 2.5 turns. You'll be much happier.

Do you think i should try this with the stock airfilter? And see if it clears up i have a dynojet coming this week. Or should l just wait for the dyno jet.
