Can someone tell me why my 03 p650 makes my clothes stink like a gas gan when i start it up,i guess i never really realized it before, maybe its always done this but holy smokes my Ski-doo smokes less for god sakes,i only got 2000 kms on it , it wouldnt be the rings already would it?? Is there a fuel mixture setting i can set to remedy this, i get a headache every time i start it, it seems to lean out as it gets warmed up,anyhow please help!!

Sounds like your mixture is too rich, choke sticking, and or your main jet is too large. 02 prairies were notorious for having weak choke plunger springs. May consider upgrading to the KLR 650 choke plunger springs. Visit NYROC website for part numbers & instructions.
If you are running larger pilot jets return to stock pilot jets & readjust the airscrews.
Warm up your bike and observe the exhaust. Is it puffing black or slight blue smoke? Note the position of your airscrews & Try turning in your airscrews in 1/4 increments to see if smoke stops/performance improves. If not return to original airscrew setting.
Second, gathering you spark plug wrench/necessary tools, remove necessary plastic retaining screws so you can readily gain access to plugs & do a full-throttle 1/2 mile run and cut engine with kill switch while keeping the throttle wide open untill you come to a stop. Pull your plugs & check for proper color/jetting. Base ring/electrode bend should have a slight tan color and on 180 degrees of first thread/base ring. If electrode is white too lean, if black too rich. Change main jets, going smaller if blugs are black. Move front jet to rear carb and go down next size on front, repeat airscrew adjustment & plug check.

Sorry TuffEnuff..... you are WAY off base here! The reason his clothes stink is because the Prairie has enough power to make mortal men **** their pants...... hence the smell! LOL
Sorry I couldn't resist.

You got a point here, if you pin the throttle on mine, on takeoff you had better be standing on the handlebars and hope you don't get instant traction. Common sense USUALLY takes over to let off the gas & grab some brake when you are staring at the sky or ground behind you.
I'm sure all prairie us owners have a few skidmarks from grabbing too much throttle.

Try this. I was on my P700 the other day and in a standard sitting position I wanted to see exactly how much throttle was needed to lift the front end without pulling on the bars at all. I came to the conclusion that slightly less than half throttle ( with good traction) would send the fronts skyward! Man I love this motor!
Oh and yeah those SKID marks too. LOL

ME TOOOOOOOOO, think my wife is Jealous from all the drooling.
Hope Kawasaki gets their Stuff together and refine the Prairie next year. Better CDI, High Compression Pistons, Better front & rear shocks/springs, greasable bushings, and more speed from a better Clutch sheave design. Kawi could make the 650/700 engine perform better than the 750 Brute and save themselves Big $$$$$$$$$$$$. Go-Figure?
With my mods, I never pull on the handlebars to pop the front, just blip the throttle. Low gear has "SCARY" POWER. I can only image if my bike had High Compression pistons & Port Job.
Santa, Yo-Santa! CAN YA HEAR ME!!!
