Default Prairie Upgrade help, lots of questions!!!

Well the winter has come and there is some money burning a hole in my pocket. On the slate is a new set of tires and rims, new clutch springs, and possibly a module or CDI.

I will be getting a set of ITP mudlites or 589's in either 26 or 27 inch size on either type 4 or 5 c series.

I plan on a black secondary and orange/blue primary.

I use this machine for many things, but its primarily a ranch hand and snow plower. Our property is full of wet marshes and mud, and winter plowing is done both on the drive and on a frozen pond. It will be used on the trail too though.

What I need from you fine fellows is some insight on these choices. I had a set of mudlites once and like them, but I'm curious about the 589's. Going up to 27" is cheap, but is it going to be a good thing? Will I lose much more power than with 26" tires, and are the ground clearance gains worth it?

I have done my homework and it looks like the orange/blue primary and black secondary would be the best all around for low end power, bigger tires, and trail riding and work. Did I come to the right conclusions? Also will my top end change at all with these springs, I find 64 to be a little paltry.

Thank you very much for you help.

I think the 589's would do great for where you live. I got 589's on my V-Force and it does very well haulin those big 25inchers. Of course you'll have 4 to haul around. I think with the clutch springs you are gettin, your atv will have no prob. Do you already have an aftermarket CDI? I heard those help a lot. Sounds like all you got to do is go buy them. Send pics when you get it all hooked up!

Thanks for the link doc. I've seen Nyroc's page before but its been a while and I didnt even have them bookmarked. After reading a little more I think I will stick with my stock primary spring and just install the EPI black secondary to improve belt wear with the bigger tires.

I do not have a module as I sit now, but a dyna has been decided on and is on the list of things to come in the near future.

Maddog, did you rob a bank, or does your wife know where your stash of cash is, ha ha You have a good choice with your mudlites, Dyna and other goodies. I am going with the new ITP wetlands radial, maybe have a better ride at speed.
Have fun spending, let us know what you went with.
