An observation: One belt size fits all for new Kawies
I just noticed on another forum that the P360 CVT belt was changed in 2005 to use the P700/V-force CVT belt. I did a little checking up on this in the parts diagram located at Kawasaki.com and discovered the following:
1) Both the 2003 and 2004 P360 models use the slightly wider belt (59011-1084) and then Kaw. switched to the 59011-0003 belt for the 2005 P360. (which is the same belt used on the BF 750, P700 & V-force).
2) I've recently read on this or other atv forums that Kaw. no longer stocks the old P650 belt...so folks with the P650 (like me) are now recommended to use the P700 belt (which is a slightly wider and better made belt anyway). Of course, P650 owners can use the old P360 belt in lieu of the P700 belt.
My point here is that Kaw. went from having 3 different CVT belts (one for P360, one for P650, and one for P700/V-force) to having only 1 belt (for new P360, P700, V-force, BF 750). Of course, this makes sense from an economical perspective. Personally, I was kinda dissappointed that Kaw. didn't come out with a slightly wider belt for the BF 750...that could've been a nice upgrade for the other quads to try.
NOTE: I've read many times that the old P360 belt (and old P650 belt too) is shaped slightly different than the new P360/BF750/P700/V-force belt. In a nutshell, the new P360 belt has a little more surface area on the sides to make more contact with the sheaves (I personally like that) as compared to the old P360 belt. Another difference is that the old P360 belt is slightly longer than the new P360 belt.
