Default Santa was pretty good to me ...!

Hi guys
I got a new T-4 pipe and a moose jet kit , I'm also going to run the twin air cleaner and rad hose snorkel . Dose any one have a good starting point to set the clips on the needle's and jet size's I should start with ...?
I'm about sea level , but ride the mountains from time to time .
Thanks guys

nice pipe!! they are a bit loud so be prepared. as far as a starting point for jetting i can't really help since the moose kit uses Dynojet jets. The dynos go by a different numbering system than the keihns. check nyroc site. i think he has a table with dynojet conpared to the keihn/kawi equivalent. Start with which ever is closest to the 145/148 setup. I figure with the setup your running you may be to lean with the standard 142/145 setup like most people are running.

see what everyone else has to say. most people are running 142/145s but they have a more restirctive pipe generally.

good luck

1st Notch on top of needle is richest. Note your starting jet sizes and do a throttle chop & plug check after your mod, Normally adding headers and a less restrictive air filter will make your bike lean. The best way to tell is by doing a plug check. I'd start by visiting your local Hardware & geting .04 X 14 mm allen head screws for your carb bowls. Install the DYNA Jet needles, and while your bowls are off move the back jet to the front carb and go up the next size jet on your rear carb, reassemble with allen head screws, Be sure your carb slide springs are not binding & washers are in place on top of needle, get all your vaccum lines back in place and insure you do not have loose carb manifold bolts/screws and no airleaks from around carbs/manifold. Start & warm up, adjust air mixture screw if needed and do throttle chop/plug check. Plug color will tell you if you need to go leaner/richer.

http://www.smellofdeath.com/lloydy/jetting.htm; Begin there.

Change your main jets till you are slightly rich and fine tune with rest of your notch selection. The new needles are suppose to allow at least one jet size in tuning

Happy trails,

I"m running 128-132 Dyno jet jets....dont remember which clip position
but I will look @ my paper work tomorrow
I think my clip is on the 3rd position.......not sure

Remember: the further up the clip, the lower the needle, and the leaner the mix
I will post tomorrow with my clip position....BTW I am @ 1200 feet
