Default milky stuff in oil ?????

I went to change the oil in my lakota today and when i unscrewed the oil cap, there was a bunch of white foamy stuff in the top of the cap. Then I noticed that it was in the oil draining out of the engine too.
What is this crap?

Usually, any foamy or milky substance in the oil is water contamination. Change the oil immediatley. Then find where the water is getting in. Any sign of water in the oil isn't good.

yep... water... just a note, that if you get any water splashed into your filter box, it will go into your oil through the crank case vent... unless you extend that vent to a higher location, outside of the filter box...

How should I get the rest of the foam out? Would doing a double oil change take care of it?
And I,m not quite sure where the vent is your talking about.

Does anyone know if it will hurt to run the engine without the oil filter in it for a few minutes. I want to run a few changes of oil through it, but dont want to have the filter in there if it has water in it.

I wouldn't because for those few minutes dirt could get in, and oil is going to be leaking out of the oil filter hole..
