I will definately post pics when we get the preliminary brochures on them. I meant to ask him why Kawi pulled the racing program. The only new products that I heard of were the new 450F dirtbike and the new 450 atv. Thats all I know now. I'll let you all know when i get more info.

 

I don't know ANYTHING about dirt bikes but my dealer also confirmed the new 450F. I too hope this new quad is coming, I'm not much of a sport quad guy but I would DEFINITELY buy this one.

 

I'm looking forward to this, but it amazes me that now the CC game has gone back down for the fastest of the fast, how light can we go, how much power can we punch out of a little 450...its just amazing. KVRMUDDRUNNER i dont know if this is true but here it goes. i heard today the reason that kawie pulled the sponce ship was because they were haveing money problems, bankrupted. i would think they wouldnt bring out a new bf or 450 if that was the case. but maybe they are hoping that will turn thing around. i have been riding since 2002, why havent they produced a larger inventory ( different makes) of quads. the tryed and true will only bring so many ppl to the dealer. kinda like the other three mfg, they have everything 250 300 350 400 450 so on so on. i just dont understand.

 

yamihoo, to contend in the racing ciruit they have to be under 450cc anything over that you will fall into another catagory. like the v force, it has to race in the utility modifide class.

 

So Honda and Yamaha can now stick yer tails between yer rear wheels now. The Green is a comin'!!

i think that the new kawi/ suzuki 450 will run with the yfz. YFZs are tough to beat out of the factory, I think honda learned that the hard way with the 450r. By the way the 700 v-force doesnt dominate... its a joke in the sand.

 

Great news KVR! I have known that the KX450F has existed for some time, but I didn't expect Kawasaki to release a competition ATV at the same time. Kawasaki is easily the most secretive of the big four. At the very least, the bike will come out, because Bubba is scheduled to race one outdoors this year. I am interested to see what they will release. I hope it out-handles the competition and looks good at the same time. Please Kawasaki, don't make a ugly-dumpling warthog like the 450R. Don't make it look like the YFZ either, but just as attractive and aggressive. Oh yeah, and GREEEEN!!! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

To those doubtful about Kawasaki's intentions, remember this - Kawasaki first got into motorcycles with the express purpose of building the fastest bikes in the world. They still hold the same attitude for many of their products. The omnipotent ZX-10R is a perfect example. Let's all hope that the KXF450 (presumably) has the same take-no-prisoners attitude built in from the start.

 

I hope you don't think that it will be a joint effort. The honeymoon is over. There is no more flagship model joint-development between Kawasaki and Suzuki. The KX/RM-Z 250 was the only one. It's been known for over a year that the 450s are/will be independent designs (dirt bikes/ATVs).

 

The Z400/KFX400 was also a joint venture.

 

Not exactly. Kawasaki is allowed to sell a "rebadged" Z400 in their showrooms. Arctic Cat gets the same thing, only they have their own bodywork. They had nothing to do with the devlopment of the Z. Suzuki did the same thing last year with the KX60, 65, and 100 because they didn't have any products of their own for those market segments. For 2005, they dropped the 60 and 100 because of customer confusion and low sales last year. As a matter of fact, Kawasaki dropped the KX60 for 2005 because its sales have been slipping ever since the KX65 came out due to its dated design. The KX/RM-Z was a joint venture because Suzuki designed the engine and Kawasaki desinged and produced everything else. Needless to say, neither side is exactly thrilled over the end result, even though it is one of the top 250 thumpers out now. This bad blood is why the 450s are seperate entities.
