Ok, math all of you whiz kids, the correct conversion factor for kilometers to miles is: Kph x 0.625= Mph, which is also true for distance. BTW, one kilometer equals five-eigths of one mile (0.625) and 4 metric liters equals exactly one US gallon (at zero degrees celcius). Oh yes, and one metric meter is equal to 39.6 inches, and one metric kilogram is equal to 2.2 pounds.

All of this is really important stuff to we Canucks, here in the frozen great white north, especially the fact that one degree Fahrenheit is way less than one degree celcius. It is, like 20 below, here today (that is in Celcius degrees) but that ain't so bad if you know that it is only about three below (Fahrenheit). That is just cold enough to require a moderate dose of rum, every so often.

I have no exact idea about how much the Canadian dollar is worth in US dollars, though, but it makes me sorta feel sick to see the differences between US and Canadian prices for parts. Please, will somebody help with that, because a Kawi 700 drive belt that costs only 70 bucks US or so, costs about 140 bucks in Canada! Now whyinhell is that? Calls for another dose of rum!

There are 3.785 liters in a U.S. gallon, which comes out to just over 33.8 ounces per liter. So does that mean shots of rum are bigger in Canada?

No, they sell alcohol by ounces and buy by the ounce/shot and mark whatever it works out to in metric on the bottles. Now when it comes to gasoline, they sell that by the litre, around 80cents per litre now, doesn't sound as bad if it was aprox. 3 dollars and 20 cents per gallon type thing.

They know how to get your money, whatever system works the best, they use.

Wow, gas is at a "cheap" $1.85 or so per gallon here right now. That's about 49 cents U.S. per liter, but I don't know what the exchange rate is. My truck, a '00 2500 Ram, uses diesel which is usually cheaper but about the same right now. Anyways, I'll try to shut up now so as not to hijack stillahondafan's thread!

You said that the dealer put your new belt on so they are responsible for the whole show, make sure you do not pay one red cent.

Plus, who is this dealer, please tell us so we will all know, that's what this internet is best for, keeping dealers & producers in line. Please keep us posted on how they treat your problem.

yes, I agree with DOA... about paying for the repairs & the posting of incompetent dealers... there are way too many horrible, cheating, & ignorant dealers out there, & we as forum members need to protect each other from these crooks...
