Brute Force 650 w/ 27" tires??

Default Brute Force 650 w/ 27" tires??
I see on one website they claim the Prairie 650 needs an 1 1/2" wheel spacer on the rear to run a 12" wide tire...say other wise it will rub the gas tank is this true?
