Default '95 Bayou 300 4x4 price and ???'s

I'm sorry to jump-in and disturb all the Prairie vs BF threads, but I've got to start somewhere with a first ATV... I've got a lead on a this Bayou for $1900, pretty good condition, not too beat-up seems well cared for a and runs nicely. Is this a decent price and what are the potential pro's and con's of the machine? Is the FT 4 wheel drive a bother with difficult handling? I'll use it for trail riding and light work, haul out the occasional venison carcass, jumping from 'yote stand to 'yote stand etc... Anyone give some experiances with the machine?-price good?
Thanks in advance, TK

No- don't apologize, I've been eyeballing a Bayou 4x4 myself- inspite of all the Prairie BF hoopla, also. That is a good price there, indeed, but try offering $1500, anyhow- the only possible downside I can think of is that it doesn't have a low range.

I stand corrected, the Bayou has a dual range transmission in addition to the main 5-speed transmission. Good luck on yer dealing, ya can't go wrong for what you're looking at it for...

Ive owned two bayou 300 4x4's, a '93 and a '94 and still own the 94. that sounds like a good price if its decent at all. mine have been absolutly trouble free ever since new. Now the poor thing only gets used as the workhorse for plowing and pulling a trailer. sounds like it should work fine for the needs you have listed.

I think the price is realistic, but should try and deal anyway.
I own a 99bayou4x4 very reliable,low range+cyclecountry plow=no
problem with dirt, snow, slush which is heavy.

rimfire22 over and out.
