I have a 2003 KFX 400, i bought it last feb. around the 20th. There are a few cosmitic things wrong with it:

Rear plastics are replaced, new ones are maurer raceing and are better, but can tell i replaced, new ones are flawless tho. I replaces cause we were riding 2 up jumping small hills and got lots of stress marks in the pastic and it looked crappy.

Chain is rusty, but not that bad.

My front bumper, i painted it Grabber Green to match the Fenders, but its comming off, should i try to sell it like it is or get a replacement bumper? Paint is comming off due to pressure washing. Has a few dings from when i put it in my truck. but nothing major.

Front plastic has some stress marks on right front beside the rev switch, should i replace with new? Its not that bad just like stress mark about 3-4 inch line.

Frame only has a few scratchs, i have full skid plates, front and swing arm, they are scratched from normal riding.

I also bought the extended warrenty, for a total of 6 years, bought 5 and 1/2 extra.

Only things done to bike is jet kit with air box lid off, and pee shooter removed, (no spark arrestor)

Should i put it all back to stock and jets back to stock with air box lid on or what?

The way it is, about $3800 to $4200. Alot of it has to do with where you live also. Check in the Cycle Trader for your area and see what they are going for and use that as reference. I don't think I would replace the plastics or put everything back to stock, as it won't improve it's value all that much. I would remove the paint from your bumper though, little things like that can and will detour a potential buyer. Good luck.

 

Man i would take $3500 right now, Only reasion i only payed 4700 out the door from dealer, and there still selling them for that i think, so 3500 will be all i can get.


Were are good places i can post an add? Cycle trader, local news paper, anywere else?

 

Besides the cycle trader, Ebay would be the next best place. Yea, $3500 sounds a little more reasonable but around here they are still fairly expensive.
