Nah, that's just another little annoying thing to go along with several other nickel and dime issues this thing has.

Even with the needle update it still runs way too lean/hot and has the pops and misses at low speed. If kawi cant figure out carbs then go to FI like most of the civilized world. Plus, it has a myraid of other "dumb" things and poorly executed designs. The fan comes on quite frequently and this is in 0 degree weather....huh? It starts hard in the cold...prolly choke related. Whatever. I have high standards for products and this thing don't cut it.

It's going to the dealer this week where they can sort out all of the BS, then it's history. I might try a Honda since they seem to get favorable reviews and feedback.

I'll never touch another Kawi no matter what. They are substandard and the only good thing on them is the motor and that's if you can even get it started.

 

Might I recommend calling your ISP and cancelling your internet access being you don't seem to be able to make anything but biased rash decisions. Is it necessary to try to drag us down with you flaming us to the point of us having to remove ourselves from our subscription to the threat just to maintain an acceptable level of sanity. Honda just like most of the other manufacturs make a good product however I heard someone broke a choke lever once so you might not want to go that route either. I can't say FI isn't the way things are eventually going to migrate towards however in the meantime there will still be a place in a lot of our garages for some carbeurated machines.

Who's flaming? Alls I did was tell it like it is. As I said several times, the choke cable is just the tip of the iceberg. This thing has more problems than a math book and I owe it to people that are going to plunk down hard earned dollars on one of these to be informed that the machine has some "suspect" stuff on it.

Well I for one love my Prairie, and haven't had any trouble with it.Even though i put it thru the hells of PA trails. If you hate Kawasaki thats is your opinion , like what they say everyone has one. So buy a Honda or a Sucklaris thats your prerogative. when you get the email telling you of a post, under it is another link to the "unsubscribe" page. You have to be logged in first. You can unsubscribe to any and all forums there.

 

It's going to the dealer this week and I've already typed up a full page list of whats wrong / unaccaeptable. We'll see where it goes from there.

Quite frankly, my mind is already made up..... once the dealer gets done taking care of issues and it's back in reasonable operating condition, I'm gonna trade it in or just sell it outright and cut my losses now before the real fun begins. I have no incentive to contact Kawasaki. What are they gonna do, offer me another one? No thanks! Besides, if they even think about being jerks about it, I am pissed off enough that I might just completely flip out and do something that I'll regret later.

I feel your pain when i got mine in late 2001 the cv joint let go after having it for a week had to leave it in the woods overnight,then my dealer pro cy.told me they couldn't fix it because their relationship with Kawi was over with buying parts from them,had to go to another dealer Freedom glad i did then the belt was gone after about 200 kms,then my primary bolt was stripped had to retap and get another bolt machined lucky i new a machinist,and my choke lever broke a while back when it was froze up but i had it outside allnight in a snowstorm white quan they called it but it works great after that lol.I think it was built on a monday lol but i would never sell it or trade it works too good now.Good luck with yours.
