I wasnt bragging about it.I just got my Trx2oo and wanted to know if it was a good machine.Im also getting a Lt160 or bayou 220 soon so I wanted to know how it would do.It was others who were saying their bayous could beat the 2oo.Sorry if you mixed me up with someone else but I need to find out if the suzuki or the bayou 220 is better so I dont waste $$$$$3000.

Yea most Honda fans WOULD say that the Recon is better than the 220, even though they have no knowledge on which one actually is the better quad. (not to mention no proof of this) I have nothing to say about the Recon because I've never ridden one, but before you say which is better we should have someone that's ridden both say.

Between the 220 & the 160, I'd opt for the 220. They both perform pretty well, but the Kaw seems to be built a little better. Had a 160 & two 220's in the neighborhood riding gang, and the guys on the 220's rode them REAL hard, with no problems other than the front brakes needed continual maintenance if you got them wet a lot. The 160 was a good bike(chain drive though), but was a little notchy shifting & didn't seem to have as much power on the hills. Might boil down to which dealer would be better. Either one will kill a TRX200 (the biggest POS that Honda ever made!)

I can't say anything about the Kawie or Honda but I do have a Suzuki 160. I also ride a Warrior. The 160 is a great little quad. It is absolutely bulletproof. Other than front brake adjustments and routine maintenance I have had no problems. It is an easy, fun machine to ride and goes and goes and goes. Very well built.

I started on a 160 and now it is my dad's. My dad also has a freind with a 220 and I have ridden that. The 160 had better handling and is a lot better for a beginner. The motor is the only drawback because I had the 160 bored .040 over, a DG RCM exhaust, a Keihin 26mm PE carb, and a clamp on K&N filter and it was still slower up a hill but on flat ground my old 160 was a little faster. Since you aren't a beginner I would suggest the 220. Don't think any of these quads are even close to being considered "fast" and it is more of a competition of who is slower than who is faster. I would just save another thousand dollars and buy a mojave. Why would you spend 3000 dollars just to get something slightly faster than your P.O.S. Honda.

I have not owned or ridden either the Bayou 220 or Suzuki 160, but Dirt Wheels magazine conducted a shootout between the two in their March 1998 issue on page 36. (Back issues of which are probably still available from Hi-Torque Publications).
The Bayou 220 was the clear winner in every category. Dirt Wheels rated it as 4 stars and rated the LT160 as 3 stars.
Also Dirt Wheels again tested the LT160 in the latest issue (Nov. '00 - p124). This is what they have to say in summation:
"Sadly the LT160 is is a machine without a solid rider base. While it is reliable and easy to maintain, both it and the Yamaha Breeze are aimed at a skill level that does not exist for very long. After all, how long are you a "beginner"? With limited suspension travel you quickly exceed its handling abilities. Boredome (sic) is soon to follow. Considering its suggested retail price of $2999, we feel it offers too little performance for too much money."
You are certainly best advised to buy the quad that you feel best meets your requirements. However, the most small quad performance and utility for the dollar seems to clearly lie with the Bayou 220.
