Pecker, I agree with the above and I wouldn't add the winch unless you feel that you really need it for where you ride. I sold my 400 to a friend and we were out last fall, ended up in deep thick mud. He went right through with no difficulty though he did have the realtors on the back. In most situations I think the stock tires will do just fine. Unless you plan on real 4X4 conditions I don't think the winch will be necessary. I was going to put one on my V but, after a few rides in less than ideal conditions I realized my money was better spent elsewhere. Bottom line is you could always remove it for track days if you want it for the trails.
The KFX400 will do about 70 MPH, not sure what your bike will turn but the 400 is plenty fast stock. Lots of aftermarket add ons to make it faster, as well as gearing changes.
