Default locking front diff won't engage

My p650 won't engage both front wheels. I have played with the adjustment in the cable and nothing seems to help. Has anyone seen similar problems or have suggestions on this issue ?

What type of oil have you been running? Also, before you try to use the diff lock do you come to a stop or are you moving?

I'm using the synthetic kawi oil that the dealer recommended, and have tried the lock both moving and still.

my dealer stressed the fact that if you dont stop compleatly you could do some damage the front end.
try taking it to the dealer and tell them its not working and see if you can get it looked at under warenty.
and if its broken they should fix it under warenty.
or is your warenty up now.

Yes I was also told to come to a complete stop. It may damage the clutches if engaged while moving and this would cause it not to lock.

I was told that as long as you are not spinning your tires you can engage the diff lock but since I got the "pen-lock" mine stays locked most of the time

Is the front end packed with mud, snow or ice? For lack of a better word, the lever the cable moves that engages/disengages the front diff might have snow, ice or mud packed around it and it won't disengage. The happened to me on my Brute last fall, drove in clay mud all day with no water, the dif lock would not release.

You also might have water in your diff and if it froze it could freeze the clutches together.
