Markymannn....yeah thats where ive been riding. I havent had any run ins except for the active tracks that connect all those places together along route 5. Where have you had problems? Hopefully those places will get there act together and give us a few more places to ride this year.

yamihoo, i apologize for my previous post. i was just upset that i trespass for enjoyment. i do not, its just that these trails have been here since before i was alive and now the people who have moved this way to commute to the city are mostly these bunny and tree loving *******. i didnt mean you were. and they have the celebrity and monetary backing to make things happen. there is an atv association quite a ways from me but they have done nothing in the way of trails, they get poker runs together and i pay for the poker run happily, i give donations happily, sign the petitions happily as well. my brother and i have been looking into the trailpass that we have here but everything is so far away. myself, my brother and our friends all belong to towercitytrailridersclub in PA. other than paragon it is the only hassel free riding near by, 2hrs. i havnt ridden near my own house other than to plow snow in over 5 or 6 months. had to vent about this raising reg fees and not getting anything in return. am i asking too much from my state? it is ridiculous that we have to resort to politcal lobbying just to ride my atv. i'm sorry if i offened anyone or gave the wrong impression.

A club would be nice except it wold consist of a bunch of people sitting in their driveways with nowhere to ride. obey what laws? no one informed me of any laws about riding on land not posted ever that people have been riding for years long before i was alive. the state owns millions of acres that are off limits to all motorized vehicles(except theirs). they say they are for hiking, biking and wildlife watching. let me tell you what this land is like, it is 95% logged and destroyed land unsuitable for a hiker, unpassable by mtn. bikes, and because it is logged(looks alot like anuke went off) there is "NO" wildlife. this land is so PRISTINE its uninhabitable. you most likely have public trails to ride and clubs to join. You obviously dont live in this state. it cant get worse already cant ride anywhere. "ruin it for the rest of us and yourself". you have no ******* clue. i know you write aletter and join your club, i'll go to work so i can pay the taxes that buys the "law enforcement" recreational vehicles. and i'll act like the new yorker everyone thinks we are or i'll act like the tree and bunny huger environmentalists, the bikers, the hikers, and wildlife watchers and WHINE ******* day you make me sick.

don't even get me started on how much i think this state sucks. i can see why people would run from the cops they are WAY to strict. i was coming home from work one day on my prairie (i work on a farm like a mile away from my house) i have to follow the road for not even 30 yards so i can cross the road at a 90 degree angle. that day a cop happened to be sitting along side the road right where i had to cross so i slowly drove passed him and waved and got ready to cross the road, the next thing i know he jumps out of his car, pulls his gun out, PULLS HIS GUN OUT!, and tells me to come over there like i had just robbed a place. he starts giving me all this BS about how i have to be 500ft. away from the road when i follow it for the whole 30 yards that i followed it (its not like i was on the road following it either, i was a good 50ft away from it) long story short, out of his "kind" heart he let me go.
i just can't understand why they spend most of there time trying to find something you do wrong when you try your best to do everything right and not trying to catch all the ones that break the law and go through peoples yards and tear them up (the lady that owns that property that i have permision to ride on to get to work is having a horrible time with them, so much so that she gave me permision to chase them down and kick them off because the cops don't) so the only person that has a legal right to ride on that property gets harassed, makes perfect sense to me!
i think that its so much of a problem that i actually wrote a paper on it for my english class, did you guys know that we have the 3rd largest ATV sales in the US? and yet we have no legal trails and it costs us more to ride, gotta love NY!

I have a friend that lives next to some RR tracks. There is a police person that lives a few houses down from him. It's funny how there are quad tracks worn into the ground that go across and up the RR tracks from the police person's house. It is also illegal to ride on the tracks in that area. good guy,
you had better go and reread the atv reg. laws. unless you can prove that the atv is used for agurcultural purposes only, then it has to be reg. yep, even in your own lawn. in fact, if your taking your atv back to the dealer, or trailoring it somewhere, it had better have reg. on it. if not, a cop can legally impound it. sounds dumb, but they claim that the reg. is proof that you own the atv.
now with that said, i live down in the southern tier. you would think that with all this "country land" that we have down here that we'ed have some places to ride. too bad thats not the case. alot of the farm land around me is being sold off in 5-10 acre lots. sold mostly to city folk, so they can get a taste of the country life. so, they move down here, and on the weekends invite all their friends and family down and tell them to bring the fourwheelers/dirtbikes, we got 10 acres to ride on now. so after the first 10 min., they've ripped up every inch of their land, and its off to find more land to ride on. you see where i'm going with this.
the atv community has brought alot of these problems on themselves. and why don't the snowmobilers want us on their trails? for the same reasons the landowners don't want us on their lands. if theres not enough snow to ride a snowmobile on, than the atvs are going to chew up the land even more. sorry if this sounds like ranting, but i've watched every trail around me get closed because of out-a-towners and weekend warriors.
