Default lakota smoking

I have a 98 lakota that smokes on and off. Has anyone had a problem like this. It fouls plugs also (oily). Could this be piston rings or bad valve seals? Any help would be appreciated.

Do a compression check. Weak valve guide seals will allow oil seapage into your cylinder, so will a bad or weak choke spring or carb float. Do not leave your fuel on after done riding.

i am having the same problem with mine, i took it to the dealer and the whole top end is bad and needs to be rebuilt. You could just have a bad piston wring or valve seal but you should get it checked out because its only going to get worse......................

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to check the carb first.
