Help with tires
#1
I have a 2005 Kawasaki Prairie 700. I'm looking to change my stock tires. I've been looking at Gators, Mudzillas, Bighorns, and 589's and a couple others. I'm leaning towards the Gators due to price and the type of terrain I ride on. It ranges from hard pack to mud to snow to whatever (good Ohio weather). I was also wondering if I can go from 25' to 26' without any rubbing or any other difficulties. I don't want to mess with any lift kits or spacers or anything right now. I found a site where I can get a Gator tire/wheel kit for a pretty decent price. But I was mostly wondering about the whole size thing and if anyone has any input on good tires. Thanks alot.

You can do 26 or 27 without any trouble. If you go real wide with a mudzilla or vamp you might have rubbing in the front, but most tires you can go 10 in front and 12 in rear without trouble. You are looking at a big variety of tires some are rather specific for certain types of riding. Like the mudzillas are for the guys that do big sloppy mudholes all the time. If price is a concern you might look at the mudlite as well. The ride is smooth but still is pretty aggresive in mud and snow, and are pretty inexpensive. If speed is a concern you want to stay with a 25 or 26 tops, the bigger heavier tires rob alot of power.

I would go with the Gators, IMO they are the best mud tire that you can still ride trails with....I used to have them, I had the 27's and could still pull wheelies in low and I think you will like that extra lil GC.
