about to buy a VForce!
#1
I'm about to buy a V as soon as I sell my warrior and I can't wait! I was just curious as to what armor you guys have been running on them. I do alot of trail riding, so I want to get a swing arm skid and probably a full chasis skid as well as a front bumper. I'm debating on the A-arm skid plates, but will probably end up getting them. I know with chain driven quads a rear is basically required material, but I would assume they would be slightly less important with a shaft drive although I dont want to crack the diff. I just wanted your input on which I should invest in first, and also what brands make the good stuff for the Vforce, as far as fitment and quality also which offers the best overall protection. I dont want a front bumper that blocks the headlight beam path, and from some of the pics i have seen it apprears that some of the bumpers do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.

I would go with Pro Armor for the underside protection. This is because they recess their mounting bolts, making them difficult to damage on the trail. I bought Ricochet Armor for my Prairie. It's also good armor, but the bolts are right out and exposed.

I think most any brand of belly skid will do, but I prefer one that goes all the way up the front spar of the frame, many end right there and don't cover the front of the frame. I've got a DG Baja and it is good and study with flush mount allen heads so it won't grab anything. For the swingarm the only one I would run is the PRM. It is BEEFY and covers the whole swingarm, not just the rear diff like most of them out there. Lots of good bumpers out there, I run an AC and like it, but some guys say it will fold in a take out the radiator in a crash. I think the PRM bumpers mount low and many racers use them because of the radiator issue with the AC, Roll, and many others. I've never run a-arm guards, I just wheelie over stuff lol, but I guess they would help if you are running in alot of rocks. i just don't really see what they do besides keep the a-arms looking nice. If you hit anything substantial, it is still going to bend/break an a-arm or something else. Just my opinion.
As far as fitment, My DG and my PRM stuff fits great, anything I have ever bought from AC or Pro Armor, it seems like I have to beat on it or drill out the holes to get them to line up. AC also makes stuff for Roll Design.
