I don't have the Service manual with me but your best bet is to get the "Service Repair Manual". Order it thru www.ronayers.com, well worth the 40 Bucks. Part #99924-1134-01

Best thing to do is disconnect the shift rod and see if the shaft in the trany will relocate itself. Will it go into reverse this way? You can then adjust the rod to make it work. On the older P650's a motor mount bolt will come lose keeping the shift rod from a steady shift distance this maybe a cause on your machine. Here is the next part you are not going to like. If it constantly pops out of gear then it is possible the pressure washer is damaged in your trany and the only fix is to split the case. If gears are damaged because the washer and parts have fallen into the trany you are looking at a hefty bill for repair as the motor has to be pulled. Check to see if your motor mount bolt is lose first then go down the line hopfully it is an easy fix.

OK, now & then my reverse lite won't come on either & the shifter has to be pass the "N" notch for the "N" lite to stay on. Then when the shifter is in the Reverse Notch, no "R" lite. Is this what your BF is doing? ( this is a common problem on almost all of the BF750s) If so, then do the following, as I just did mine a hour ago.
Tools needed.- Phillips screw Driver, #12 open end wrench.
Remove the side panel plastic, front collar, key switch- a bunch of screws that is for sure, don't lose them. Put the key back in the switch but leave off.
Loosen the top nut on the shifter rod closest to the gear shifter, this NUT is a left hand thread.
Loosen the rear nut, notice how the Swivel is level on the rod, has to be this way when you retighten.
At the rear portion of the shifter rod is where you turn the rod, on mine I had to turn it clock-wise, watch the gear shifter while adjusting, the shifter will move forward. Retighten the 2 nuts.
Turn the key on & move the shifter back & forth between "N" & Reverse, the "R" Lite should be working now, if not, then start the BF & once again move the shifter between the 2 positions, if no "R" Lite, then turn off key & adjust rod a bit more.
After both lites work correctly & with the engine running, move the shifter thru all of the gear postions about 6 times, the shifting should be smooth thru all of the positions, including reverse.
Re-check that the rear swivel joint is level, check the 2 nuts to be sure they are tight.
Put the plastic body side back on.
Now is a good time to change your rear spark plug, since the side body panel needs to be off. Remove the CVT connector (2 straps), shove a clean rag into the opening of the CVT, this way you won't drop any tools into your belt drive.
Pull spark plug cap off, not easy to do but it will come off, not much room to work here.
Use a deep-well socket, swivel connector & rachet. Loosen the spark plug & screw out about 1/2 way. leave the swivel fastened to the deep-well socket & screw out the spark plug & remove it. Repeat to install the new plug.
Getting the plug out is not easy, just take your time with it & the plug will be removed. Installing the new plug & retightening is easier than removing the old plug.
This is the procedure to remove the rear Spark Plug from the BF750, according to the "Service Repair Manual". I did it this way this afternoon after I adjusted the Shifter rod.
Once the new plug is in & the spark plug cap is back on the plug & you have reconnected the CVT connector & before you put the side body plastic back on, start the BF, rev it up a little to be sure you have the rear Spark plug cap back on correctly & that both cylinders are firing. Check your shift lites again, if everything checks out, then put everything back together.

I didn't state it before on 4-12 b/c I didn't have the Service manual to look at. Now that I just did my Shift-rod adjustment, I'm sure you won't have any problems doing yours.
Changing that rear Plug on the Bf750 is Fun, isn't it?
