I am selling some stuff on ebay and a guy hit the buy it now price so i get an email from paypal saying i have recived a credit card payment but however to reduce processing costs for accounts that do not pay fees the ability to recieve credit card payments is limited to Premeier and Business accounts. Then bla bla bla if you upgrade your account you can get this and that for a fee of 2.9%+ $0.30 to recieve payments. Do i have to sign up for this to get my money or is there a way around it? what is the 2.9% of?

 

I'm not sure if you have to sign up to the priemere membership to receive credit card payments, but Paypal has alwasy charged 2-3% of the money you receive as thier fee for using their service.

 

To accept CC payments you have to have a premiere account at least. You can have a basic account and accept checks via paypal but not CC. So yes you will have to upgrade to that account if you want to accept a CC. And the fee is 2.9% plus 30 cents.
