12 volt sprayer hookup
#1
I just got a 12 volt weed sprayer for my bike and am wondering the best way to hook it up? Does the 04 P700 have a rear 12 volt source available? After wiring up my winch there is not enough room to keep adding taps to my battery posts. I was thinking about wiring in a cigarette type plug and using the sprayer on the front of the bike. Can the 12 volt accy port handle this type of abuse?

Da: I own a 2002 650 and it came with a front 12v hookup and a rear. I'm sure the 04's have the same?
My front powers my winch and the rear I have'nt used yet. I think that they have a rear hookup so as if
you tow a trailer you can plugin and your lights will work.If your sprayer is 12v that plug will work. You
might have to go to Walley World (Wal-Mart) go to auto section where they have the trailer lights and find
a connector that will plug into your pump wires it's just a basic hot & grund wire.

I have a 12 volt sprayer that I used with my 2003 Prairie 650. The fuse in the accessory connector was too weak to handle the pump. I made a wiring harness that connected directly to the battery with a connector on the other end to mate to the pump connector. Some people have just put a bigger fuse in the accessory port position, but it may be little risky. At the time my dealer said that he thought upping the fuse rating some would be okay. As I recall the stock fuse was 5 amp and I had to go to a 10 amp in the harness I made. Already having a winch wired to the battery can be a problem, but a dealer told me they could wire handwarmers plus a winch so maybe you can get both to fit on the terminals.
