Default Problem with 4-wheel drive

I cant get my 650 out of 4-wheel drive. The 4-wheel to 2-wheel toggle isn't doing anything for me. When i turn the bike off, but leave the key on, I can hear what I assume is either the switch that changes from 2 to 4-wheel, the wiring between the toggle and the solinoid, or the front diff. solinoid.

Any suggestions?

when you shut it off you should hear a little motor thingy running for about 10-15 seconds then it should stop, this is the engine braking actuator motor. There is also an actuator motor for the 4wd, this one could be bad. I know on my 750 I have to be moving a little ways before the 4wd kicks in, maybe you have to be moving a little bit for it to come out? I dont know, I never checked that.

Ok, should have given a few more details. It isnt the EBS, I know that one and the sound is simular, but unlike the EBS on the Kawi's, this "actuator sound" repeats as long as the key is on. I let it sit 5 minutes the other night and it just kicks on and kicks off, over and over. I also tryed to kick it out of 4-wheel while doing 2-3 mph and it still is stuck in 4-wheel.

Thanks,
Heath

sounds like what mine was doing. my KEBC actuator motor used to run continuously after I shut it off I had to pull the fuse because it did it even with the key off, I found that the actuator control module was bad, not the motor itself I swapped it with another guys' bike to confirm this. that controller is for both the KEBC and the 4wd actuator motors. its under the seat by the CDI box, only its a little smaller. if you have a buddy with the same bike try swapping it.

An update on this...I havn't had time to test out the KEBC/4-wheel control actuator, but I started the wheeler up the other day to move it and now it isnt making the noise, but the display goes from 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive and back again. It just bounces 2W then 4W over and over...think it is the acctuator still?

I have an 05 650 BF and mine is doing the 4wd/2wd thing also. I have read on here that it is the KEBS that is bad. I took it to the dealer and they saw it flashing, drove it for a minute and start the KEBS was bad.
