lakota oil
#1
Here the problem, I have a chip around my shifter and the seal leaks. Thats not the problem, knowing it leaks a little I have to stop after riding a while and check the oil. Here's where it gets tricky, when I check the oil it reads it's low so I fill it up. The problem is I think I'am over filling it because it seems to be blowing it out from some oil over flow or something. How long should I let it sit befor I get a good reading, am I over filling it or do I have bigger prblems.
I am planing on getting a new cover but not for a fes when it's in the budget.
Thanks for any help

you gotta let it sit alittle and let the motor get cool..before you can get a good reading of how much oil is in the motor..cuz when its warm/hot all the oil is up in the motor and when you add it when the motor is warm or hot than you think that you filled it up to the right level...but then when you let it sit over night and it cools off and all the oil is out of the top of the motor and then its just way to high and you can see get a good reading of anything...so id get your problem fix asap with the whole shifter thing like you said but for now before you add oil let the motor cool off before you start putting oil in...feel how hot the motor is before you add...you dont want to have to much oil in your motor cuz it not good...
