I picked it up Friday from the original owner......Does not have a speedo or hours meter,so no idea how much it has been used.....Plastics pretty scratched up but that is to be expected from trail riding.
I decided to go ahead and torcher test her this past weekend.......clay, mud over the tires, water to the fenders........she ran like a champ.
The only thing I noticed was a ticking sound from the right side top of the motor( I have had alot of Kaw motorcycles......the seem to all make alot of noise)
Anything I need to be aware of or check on this machine?
My first ATV so help if possible
OH Yeah....I picked it up for $2300.00 so I felt pretty good about that.

You will probaly need to adjust the valves, the specs. are on a sticker under the seat. These are great running machines but for some reason I have read that the valves come out of adjustment rather fast.
I was able to run mine to 1100 miles before ajusting them but I've heard of people adjusting theres at 400 miles already. I would try that first and you if you still have it then try running a higher octane gas, according to the owners manual the cheap gas can also cause a knock.

Unfortunetly that ticking is most likely is the valves, I have tried to get it to go away & have not found a way to completley eliminate it.. Oleman & I have been
discussing this, & he thinks that the 360 get better power when the exhuast valve is adjusted to the loose end @ .20mm but it creates more valve noise, I adjusted mine to .16mm just last week, I think I have more noise now & was going to adjust it a bit looser & see what happens..
mudnut4lf if you have adjusted yours without any valve noise I'd love to know what you adjusted them to & what year is your machine?

Uinthas,
I adjusted mine to the high spec. also exhaust .20mm or .08 in I think. It was strange the first 150 miles of a 220 mile ride not a tick, then I started getting a very slight tick, just enough to make you think you need to adjust them again but it has'nt affected to performance of it like when they really are out of adjustment. I think just to ease my mind, someday when I have time I'm going to double check it.Now over 1350 miles on it.
