Longest lasting rear brake pads?
#1
I recently got a set of pads for the rear of my '00 lakota, & have only ridden 60 hours, give or take, & they're already worn out. Is there a pad out there(Front & Rear) that outlasts others, or am I just doomed to buy pads every couple months? I've also heard from friends that the copper backed pads are the way to go, cuz they don't mess up rotors when they get worn to the backing.

Just about any of the heavy duty ones will last. The ones that have the slintered metal in the pads will last the longest. If you ride in the mud and use the brakes it will wear them out quicker. Any pad that goes down to the bear metal will wear out the rotor.

i feel ya i have to pay $15 for a tire for the front my dad said i should take it to advanced auto and see if there is a brake pad close to the same size that fits like a small car...see if it matches up to my kodiaks one if not make it fit... cuz 15$ a tire blows

Iknow some guys who make theirs out of brass. The brass is soft and doesn't wear out their rotors, they buy it in long strips so per set they are inexpenive but they don't have the stopping power of the real thing.
