Default Mudrunner Caliber Tires.........For Less?

What are the best true mud/trail combination tires that don't suck too much power OR greenbacks from your wallet? I also know that the Mudrunners wear very well. Any others that fit the bill in that category as well that can handle the torque of the V-twins?

Dirt Devils are really tough and cheap but lack a little in traction.

GBC Mud Hogs are nearly identical to the Mud Runners, & about 1/2 the price...

Are they as long-lasting? How good do they slide on hardpack?

I have first-hand experience with the 589's and Vamps and do not like the powersliding abilities of either. That ability to hit good mud but also swing the back end around on the dirt is what I'm looking for.

RED... maybe try a set of TSL's instead of the Vamps... the lugs run more sideways accross the tire, yet are staggered, so they are still controlable... they are one of my favorites for the type of riding you are describing, & are very durable & pretty cheap as well...
