New to the quads. Bought an 02 Lakota Sport from my cousin for 900 bucks (he bought it new) and I need some info. When checking the chain tension, the tension at it's normal load weight is what you are inspecting, correct? Lets say I weigh 200 pounds, I check the chain slack with 200 lbs on the seat, right? The owner's manual just says 1.5 to 2 inches slack, nothing about weight. The picture also trys to illustrate up and down movement. Is that 1 inch up and an inch down or is it 2 inches up and two inches down. The chain and sprockets are fairly new. This seems like it is going to be fun for the teen son to ride and pulls my middle aged butt around pretty good too. I haven't put it in the woods yet. Help an old newbie out. yup its best to tighten the chain when their is a full load on the atv because the chain is loosest when the rear shock is depressed all the way............im pritty shure its 1.5 to 2 inches from the bottom to top but im not positive becaue i just kinda feel the slack and eye it........ive never measured it
