Front strut problem on Prairie 650...
I had my bike on a lift today to remove the wheels and noticed that the front left suspension appears to have some lateral movement. How do I remedy this issue? It appears as if there are two nuts on top of the strut that should be tightened; is this correct? Thanks for the anticipated responses....

Best bet is to remove your front plastic cap and ensure snap ring is still there on top of strut , proper torque on nut, shock/strut is all the way in mount hole, and mount not cracked or elongated hole. Also check your bottom strut mount bolts/nuts and ensure your strut has not slipped down and your A-arm bolts are tight.

This not a reply but a question regarding your 02-650 why did you put works struts on and did they make a big enough difference? How much difference did you notice putting the penland cams? I called mike about 6 months ago he recommended another type of cams he was handling only because I didn't have to send my stock cams to him. Last question I have a 1st edition dynatec ignition now does the 2nd offer as much new response as the 1st edition? I see you've done all these mods and a few more. I like to hunt when I can get drawn . me and my sons go to glamis 2or3 times a year. I've got paddles and have done the Nyroc exhast and napa snorkel and dynatec 1st. At the dunes nothing beats me the 1st 30 yards after that i'm usally finished. I give the stock400 a run fore there money as well as the stock raptor. i never see many other utility bikes there when i go and if there are they won't race. I apprecieate your input thanks.

I blew one of the stock struts and a pair of Works struts was less than one OEM strut. Handling is great compared to stocks & really soaks up the bumps without bottoming, rolling, or diving. Works are gas charged, uses OEM springs & top strut mount nut/bearing Assembly ( top nut/bearing is A real PAin to remove). Only thing I don't like about the works is the clunk noise you hear when the front end leaves the ground. I also purchased cams from Penland and was told that webb makes the ones I have. The webb cams have more lift/duration than the hotcams that penland sells now & you could probably buy them direct from webb cheaper than from penlan. Noticed a lot more Mid to top end grunt with webb/penlan cams. Need a primary with a little stall for full effect. Also heard web cams work even better with Hi compression pistons. The Dyna I'm running now was the replacement for the 1st one that I sent back for kick-back. Performance seems about the same, flip from standing start HI/LO if you don't get off the gas and I'm running 25" Mudmachine Triclaws in rear (much heavier tire than stock). Had the 2nd DYNA in since mid 04 no problems..
